Metanet Marketplace for 3d Objects
An end-to-end guide to building a full-stack Metanet-powered 3D object marketplace.
This quickstart will guide you through building a decentralized marketplace for 3D-printable files using UHRP storage, a React + Vite frontend, an Overlay backend, and an Express + TypeScript Key Server. You’ll use LARS and CARS to run everything locally and deploy to production.
What you’ll build
- Upload Files Page Users upload STL files and cover images, set metadata, and payment commitments.
- Main Store Page Browse, filter, and preview 3D objects shared by the community.
- Details Page View file info, then purchase and download.
- Account Page Manage your sales balance and remove or update your uploads.
- Backend Overlay Service Admit and index UHRP-hosted files via LARS/CARS for on-chain data flows.
- Key Server Handle encryption keys and satoshi payments in Express + TypeScript.

Prerequisites
Make sure you have the following installed and configured:
- Node.js 22 or 24 (maintained and patched)
- Docker (with Compose plugin)
- Git (optional, but recommended)
- LARS & CARS CLIs installed and initialized
- A BRC-100 wallet running locally
Ready to get started?
The first step is to scaffold your project’s frontend, backend overlay, and key server folders. Follow the Project Setup guide to install dependencies, configure LARS/CARS, and verify your local environment.
In This Section
Project Setup
Scaffold your frontend, backend overlay, and key server using the full-stack template.
Backend Uploading
Admit PushDrop tokens and store file metadata via your overlay’s Topic Manager and Lookup Service.
Key Server Uploading
Verify on-chain commitments and persist encryption keys and payment data in your key server.
Frontend Uploading
Encrypt STL files and cover images, upload to UHRP, and broadcast PushDrop transactions.
Store & Details Pages
Fetch and decode UTXO listings to browse files and complete secure purchases.
Account Page
Fetch balances, withdraw earnings, and remove spent upload tokens on-chain.
Next Steps
Deploy all services to production and customize your marketplace with additional features.
